Additions:

  • Movement Trails, different for each on of the players, and will change the location of the trail renderers based on the player selected
  • Enemy Trails atttachted to the corners of enemies to improve the look of there movement
  • Enemy Bullet hit particle effect
  • Enemy bullet trail
  • Enemy Death effect
  • Player bullet hit effect
  • knife hit effect
  • player death effect
  • drone movement effect
  • poison effect
  • arrow trail
  • rocket trail
  • particle pooling system, will allow me to save time when spawning all of the particles, and not have to instantiate and destroy them, this system is very similar to the enemy system with the changes of playing and stopping the particle effect when it is pooled.

Changes:

  • changed the rocket icon to be a rocket
  • changed knife icon to be a knife
  • changed colour of all player projectiles to be a consistent sky blue colour

Removed features / Replaced features:

Thoughts:

really like this update and i think it makes the game a lot better, it has made me realise that some of the player projectiles are two slow and don't look great, and as well as this there is an issue with the enemy pooling where there trail renderers don't turn off which create a big line across the screen which does not look good. i think the effects will need a bit more work down the line but for know i am happy with the effects and plan to move on to implementing the pickup system as well as the level up system (with the plan of adding upgrades to it on a later date).
